POLICIES

  • It is important that students are placed in skill appropriate classes. Our professional staff will determine which classes are best to ensure proper training for your dancer.
  • WE HAVE AN OPEN DOOR POLICY between parents and teachers. If you need to discuss anything regarding your child, we will be happy to arrange a time to meet or return your phone call.
  • Upon absence, students are requested to call the studio and leave a message. Make up classes are encouraged. Students should speak to their instructor to find out which class to attend.
  • Class attendance is very important and crucial for improvement and class advancement. If you are dancing at the intermediate level or above, you may only miss three classes per year.
  • If you are sick or contagious, please stay home! Injured students are encouraged to watch class and take notes.
  • Take all personal belongings into class. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. Personal items left behind are placed in lost and found.
  • Please take time to read and respect our dress code. It is essential to the discipline of the class.
  • No food, gum or beverages in dance studio. Water bottles are permitted.
  • Observers are no allowed in the dance studio. We do offer monitors in our waiting room to view classes. We will have parents' observation week several times a year.
  • All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before entering the dance studio, however, they are allowed in the waiting room.
  • Students must sign in before each class.
  • For studio closings due to inclement weather, call our answering service. Whenever Central Dauphin School District is closed or dismisses early, the studio will be closed.
  • Company Dance reserves the right to engage substitutes for classes when the regular instructor is absent. No credits or refunds will be issued in this case.
  • Company Dance and its instructors are not liable for injuries sustained while in class, or on the premises. Please notify instructors if you have any concerns about physical problems or injuries. Always work at your own pace.

 

Tips to Enhance Your Company Dance Experience

  • If you take class and find it to complicated or challenging, understand that this is a normal feeling. It will take several classes to allow your body to acquire a certain amount of muscle memory, stamina and strength. It does get easier, but once is not enough.
  • Please note that our classes are geared to challenge you and help with body awareness, fitness and artistry. Feel free to consult with your instructor for alternative exercises or moves that can better match your pace as you build strength, stamina and coordination. Always work at your own pace.
  • For your safety and to respect your fellow classmates, we will not admit anyone 15 minutes after class has started. The first 10 to 15 minutes are very important because it provides the warm-up that prepares your body for the physical activity ahead.
  • You will be asked to sign-in at the front desk before taking any class. Please have your method of payment ready. We want to get you into class as quickly as possible. Students wishing to take more than one class per night will be asked to sign-in for all classes upon arrival.
